Another reason to go Media Temple

Today I had a minor outage with my hosting for architexture.ca and I emailed Media Temples support to see what’s up with it. After submitting a support ticket I was contacted minutes later with a message saying there was a minor problem and their techs were looking into it. Now here’s the clincher, where most hosting companies I’ve dealt with in the past would merely brush the matter under the rug, Media Temple actually follows up after they’ve fixed the problem. I love that they email me after its fixed to tell me what happened. Here is part of their email response:
“Earlier this morning our engineers responded to a service disruption on the storage segment your hosting account resides on. We took immediate measures to restart the affected storage segment. All services have been restored and are fully operational at this time.
We would like to apologize for the performance issues you have recently seen with your service. We are working continuously around the clock to prevent and resolve these issues moving forward. Aside from ensuring rapid recovery from these issues when they occur, we would like to state that this is something that is actively being worked on to avoid situations like this moving forward…”
Again, I love this kind of service! Webserve would run scared when there was an issue, passing blame around employees for 2 days until the problem was dealt with.
